What is BestSolv® 7300 Engineered Fluid?
The BestSolv® 7300 Engineered Fluid is a specialized hydrofluoroether (HFE) designed for various industries and uses. Developed to match the performance profile of 3M™ Novec™ 7300 discontinued Engineered Fluid, BestSolv® 7300 is frequently evaluated as a 3M™ Novec™ 7300 discontinued alternative for applications requiring stable heat transfer, immersion cooling, or light-duty solvent cleaning. It excels in heat management for semiconductor manufacturing, offers efficient cooling for data centers via immersion, and serves as a reliable solvent for light cleaning and rinsing purposes.
Also known as HFE 7300, BestSolv® 7300 is a clear, colorless and low-odor fluid. Its chemical composition is Pentane, 1,1,1,2,2,3,4,5,5,5-decafluoro-3-methoxy-4-(trifluoromethyl)- C7H3F13O (CAS 132182-92-4). It can also be described as 3-Methoxyperfluoro(2-methylpentane).
In technical evaluations, this chemistry is commonly referenced as 3M™ HFE 7300 or simply 7300 fluid, particularly in semiconductor, data center, and electronic testing environments.

Aside from being efficient in transferring heat and cleaning solvents, BestSolv® 7300 is characterized by its low toxicity, non-flammable nature, zero ozone depletion, and minimal global warming potential.
BestSolv® 7300 is a high-purity neat HFE in itself and also acts as the base chemical for various other BestSolv® HFE products that share the “73” prefix, like BestSolv® 73DE (containing t-DCE, also known as trans-1,2-dichloroethylene).
BestSolv® 7300 Applications
As a cleaning solvent, BestSolv® 7300 is suited for light-duty cleaning, rinsing or vapor degreasing and is compatible with a wide variety of materials, including metal, glass and many plastics.
As a heat transfer agent, BestSolv® 7300 is non-conductive and has high dielectric strength, making it ideal for use in electrical and electronic applications. For cooling purposes, BestSolv® 7300 is an excellent HFE coolant for use with chiller systems. Data center components can be submerged in BestSolv® 7300 while still running, without damage to delicate electronics.
As a 3M™ Novec™ HFE 7300 replacement, BestSolv® 7300 supports continuous operation in energized systems without compromising electrical insulation or component reliability.
As a carrier solvent for lubricant deposition, BestSolv® 7300 offers the benefit of high fluorocarbon solubility, as well as chemical and thermal stability.
This combination of properties aligns with the established performance expectations of a 3M™ Novec™ 7300 Substitute Engineered Fluid in dielectric cooling and carrier solvent applications.
